Yuchen Xia

Mr. Yuchen Xia is an accomplished investment management professional with 12 years of experience in international financial markets and 10 years of institutional investment management. Mr. Xia received an MMath degree in Mathematics and Statistics from Oxford University. He is also a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI).

Mr. Xia's career began at the European headquarters of BlackRock, where he served as a multi-asset portfolio manager, responsible for managing various strategic investment portfolios for some of the firm's largest institutional clients in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). In 2015, Mr. Xia joined the founding team of Moneyfarm's UK operation, a leading digital investment manager in Europe, as a senior portfolio manager. During his tenure, he was responsible for building and developing the company's investment capability while managing the company's various strategic partnerships. In 2017, Mr. Yuchen Xia founded New Horizon Global Advisory.

Yumian Lu

Ms Lu is a seasoned investment professional with 16 years of experience. Ms Lu spent 13 years at BlackRock, where she was a Director and senior product strategist within the Portfolio Management Group. Ms Lu holds an MA degree in Economics from Cambridge University, and an MSc in Risk and Finance from the London School of Economics (LSE).

She began her career at Deutsche Bank Global Markets as a structured product sales in Hong Kong.During her time in BlackRock, Ms Lu was instrumental in commercialising the firm's global bond investment capabilities, and developing portfolio solutions for prestigious institutional clients globally including central banks, government pension funds and global private banks.

Lord Ed Vaizey

Former Minister of State for Culture and the Digital Economy

Ed Vaizey (Lord Vaizey of Didcot) is a member of the House of Lords, broadcaster and business adviser. He is a former Government Minister and Member of Parliament. Ed was the Member of Parliament for Wantage between 2005 and 2019. He served as the UK Government Culture and Digital Minister from 2010-16, and is the longest-serving Minister in that role. He was appointed a privy councillor in 2016.

Ed presents three shows a week on Times Radio, the radio station of the London Times and has a weekly newsletter on tech and culture with many thousands of subscribers. He appears regularly in many media outlets as a political commentator. In the private sector, Ed is an adviser to a number of companies, technology funds and technology start-ups. Ed currently serves as chairman of the UK-ASEAN Business Council, a trustee of Tate, and a governor of St Paul’s School, London. Ed was educated at Oxford University and has an honorary degree from Newcastle University, where he is a visiting professor.
